Phase III of the British Union Conference Office HQ rebuild, July - October 2010. Newest photos at bottom of gallery. Continuing progress on Phase 3 of the BUC office build. For regular updates on the building programme you can also visit the build page of our website. External and internal walls are now in place. Wiring, plumbing and ducting are being finalised and internal plastering will soon be finished. Most of the glazing is now fitted. Rooms are now taking shape making it easier to visualise what the completed building will look like. Some of these pictures include the three BUC Officers, Don McFarlane, Eric Lowe and Victor Pilmoor, inspecting the building along with the site foreman. With the scaffolding down passers-by can now really start to get a positive impression of the building. In addition some photos show the windows and doors being replaced in the ADC end of the building and the adding of cladding to bring it into harmony with the middle section. 14 September 2010: These 16 photos demonstrate that further progress is being made with the installation of the lift, more plastering and glazing, and a good view from the President's office! To identify these pictures look at the last part of the URL above (eg: 'receptionarea.JPG') 5 October 2010: 18 new photos. Some offices are now completed, carpeted and sealed off from the workmen. The temporary site office has been removed and the fencing is coming down to allow for landscaping. It looks like things may be on cue for an end of month finish. 4 November 2010: 14 new photos. The offices are now completed apart from finishing some ventilation issues. The civil engineers have arrived to landscape the car-park and surrounding areas. For earlier photos of this section of the build visit the January - March and April - May galleries. [Photos: Victor Hulbert] |
