ADRA Shoe Box Appeal - final loading with Watford Mayor, Dorothy Thornhill. 1 December 2009.
Children and adults from across the UK and Ireland have been collecting toys in shoe boxes to send to orphans in Zambia. By Tuesday, 1 December over 8,000 boxes were crammed into a container outside the Adventist Development and Relief Agency's UK office on Stanborough Park, Watford. Children from Stanborough Primary School and Kingswood nursery assisted Watford Mayor, Dorothy Thornhill, carry the shoe boxes from the Stanborough Centre to the container. Participating in the short presentation: David Balderstone (ADRA transport manager), James Shepley (ADRA programme officer), Dejan Stojkovic (Stanborough Youth Pastor), Johnson Wong (programme coordinator). Good news for 8,000 children - they now have a Christmas gift. For the full story see BUC News 662 for 4 December 2009.
