Church in a bus? Following Jesus model church can be anywhere! Thursday, 22 February 2007 saw the launch of a double decker bus for ministry among children and teens in Yeovil Somerset. Using an old bus that once belonged to the local district council, Church Planters Dana and Leslie King saw great potential for ministry. Paying £300 for the bus, it has been totally renovated and transformed with beautiful colourful designs attractive to youth, and the inside has been completely reconstructed in a very innovative way. It contains a mini café with small kitchen for teens, a media centre, a multi-sensory playing area for children with disabilities, and a soft play area for toddlers. The bus will be travelling all over Yeovil and the surrounding villages to serve children and youth through the above facilities. The project is managed by Dana and Leslie's 'Time Together' charity, set up to serve families and especially children of the local.
When Leslie and Dana came to Yeovil it was an unentered town. Now it boasts the Yeovil International Church company and a more radical 'Inside out' church for the unchurched. Healthy friendships and very strong ties are being built through the years with many people and we pray for a richer harvest from that community in God’s time for His glory.
